Greek Dance Program at Annunciation Cathedral

The Annunciation Cathedral is proud to offer cultural programs that celebrate our Greek heritage—one of the most beloved being our Greek Dance Program. Through dance, song, and tradition, participants experience the richness of Greek culture while building friendships and community.

What Dancers Learn

• Traditional dances from regions across Greece

• Songs, customs, and traditions from selected villages

• Teamwork, discipline, and pride in preserving heritage

Program Schedule

• Season: Mid-August through March (typically ending with Greek Independence Day)

• Practices: Once per week on Sundays after church (twice per week on a day TBD as FDF approaches)

• Performances:

  • Annunciation Cathedral Food Festival (3rd weekend of September)

  • Annunciation Cathedral or other parish events throughout the year

  • Greek Orthodox Folk Dance & Choral Festival (FDF) during President’s Weekend in February*

• Revmata (Grades 10–12)
  Directors: Eleni Taptelis, Katerina Sarikakis

• Spithes (Young Adult 18+)
  Directors: Irene Kyriacou, Lea Lyberopoulos, Lea Papavasilisou

2025 - 2026 Registration & Dues

• All dance families and dancers 18+ must be pledged members in good standing of Annunciation Cathedral. [Fulfill your pledge here].

• Dance dues are due by August 24, 2025 and can be paid directly via the group links below.

• Dance Dues (per season):

  • Orama: $200

  • To Mellon: $350

  • Revmata: $350

  • Spithes: $350

• Dues cover instructional materials, costumes, workshops, musicians, and related needs.
